Group Therapy for Assertiveness

Grounded in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), this psychotherapy group offers a supportive, structured space to build assertiveness and healthy boundaries. Participants will learn how to communicate more clearly and confidently, reduce passive or aggressive patterns, and navigate everyday interactions with greater ease. Sessions run weekly for 50 minutes and are held either online or in person. This group runs for a total of 10 weekly sessions and is open to adults aged 18 and up.

Assertiveness: The Confidence to Speak Up

Each small group offers shared learning and support, while also serving as a consistent, affordable touchpoint for your emotional well-being. It’s a space to pause, reflect, and return to yourself each week—with guidance, connection, and intention.

Group Description

This therapy group is designed to support adults who struggle to express their needs, set boundaries, or speak up with confidence. Rooted in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), each session offers practical tools to help you understand assertiveness, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop more effective communication skills.

Week by week, we’ll explore topics such as passive and aggressive behaviour patterns, saying “no” without guilt, handling criticism, and navigating difficult conversations. The group blends psychoeducation, experiential practice, and supportive discussion to help you build clarity and confidence in your interactions.

You’ll receive a weekly PDF with key concepts, reflection prompts, and exercises to help you build assertiveness, improve relationships, and approach communication with greater ease and intention.
