Support for Former
Queen’s SWS Clients

If we connected through Student Wellness Services during the 2024–2025 academic year, I’d be glad to support you again at any point in the future. To help clarify what continuing care might look like, I’ve answered some common questions below.

FAQ

If you’re still a student at Queen’s, you continue to have access to counselling and other supports through Student Wellness Services. If you’re hoping to connect with a new therapist on campus, I encourage you to visit the SWS website for more information.

Frequently asked questions about continuing care with me:

Yes! If we worked together at Queen’s, I’d be happy to continue supporting you through my private practice. You can reconnect at any time, whether it’s soon after our last session or later on.

For a 50-minute individual therapy session, my standard rate is $150.
I offer a limited number of sliding scale (low-cost) spots, particularly for former Queen’s students without insurance coverage. If cost is a concern, please don’t hesitate to reach out by e-mail info@michellelehoux.com — I’m happy to discuss options that work for your situation.

Yes, I offer both virtual and in-person sessions. Virtual therapy is available to anyone living in Ontario.

Free parking is available on-site.
The office is also accessible by Kingston Transit. Route 4 (Downtown via Princess St) stops nearby. You can use the Kingston Transit Trip Planner or Google Maps for real-time directions.

Possibly. Many private insurance plans cover services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I’m also in the process of becoming a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. You’ll want to check your specific plan for details.

For former Queen’s clients, I offer sliding scale (low-cost) options. If this might be helpful for you, feel free to email me at info@michellelehoux.com so we can discuss what works best for your situation.
There’s no need to feel embarrassed—I’ve been a university student too, and I understand what it’s like to navigate limited finances while trying to build an independent life.

Therapy with me is flexible based on what you’re looking for. Some clients come for just a session or two to check in, while others prefer ongoing support over time.

Absolutely. You don’t need to be a current student to reconnect. I work with adults of all ages across Ontario and am happy to support you through any stage of life.
